Christmas time, much Peace and Joy to you all.

Well it's nearly Christmas and whilst incensed by the brokers comment in my last post I am at least going to start feeling a bit festive. I have the Turkey and have decided on the menu for the festive days.

My thoughts this year are with Turkey and Pork, traditional roast potatoes, veggies and brussel sprouts; Now no one in my family likes sprouts but this year I am going to roast then and then cover with a little honey. They should be tender but not mushy and the honey should set them off a bit, maybe with a touch of cranberry sauce. We'll see.

Dessert will be some sort of suet pudding or maybe a small of Christmas pudding and a small piece of suet pudding. Served with custard for me and cream for the others. I don’t find cream that digestible sad to say. Then it has to be cheese, grapes and some nice cheese biscuits. Ho Ho Ho, maybe a glass of port as well. Well perhaps not, I haven’t drunk since 1988 when I had a job where I had to drive anytime day or night.

You see, I'm feeling more festive already.

On a much sadder note it is nearly a year since John died, John was my older brother and is so sorely missed. Even now I still feel a deep pain when I think of him . . . December 22nd is going to be a day of quiet reflection . . .

I am looking forward to New Year. This year hasn’t really been great and I shall be happy to close the chapter so to speak. Next year will be a bit better I hope. I always find it a time of reflection at years end. The good times, some of the bad , good friends and those now gone.

Its a time to be grateful for those people I care about. Those who have made an impression on me, Emily, a person I did some work for recently. Mirella, so special in so many ways. Damon, like Mirella, my best mate. Emma , a real lady, again someone I worked with. So much style and grace and real presence.

Just thinking about it, my life is enhanced by these special people. . . such a lucky Simple of Sussex.

Thank You

Simple of Sussex
