16th December 2007

Forgive me for I have not blogged recently. I have been tied up and I am now sure that there should be 8 days in every week and 3 days in each weekend. Last Friday was the office Christmas outing and we all went to the local Casino.

Now I don't know much about casinos, indeed the last one I was in was in osstend in the 1988. I n those days I worked with another guy doing IT stuff and screen's had green block text and Unix was God.

We got a call to go and talk about our " Member Manager" software with the local Osstend. We raced to catch the ferry drove through the Belgium countryside ans meet with the manager at just before Midnight. After a couple of hours talking we were offered the hospitality of the Playboy Club. Well suffice to say that my credit card took a £200 beating. In 1988 £200 was a lot of money.

I wont go into the details, but suffice to say never never again. Best bit was that when i left the "club" my partner was outside in the car, frozen stiff after waiting four hours for me. Hohoho !

Anyway back to now, the meal in the casino was really nice, I had the lamb and it fell of the bone and the roast potatoes were really good. I don't get Brussel sprouts at home, so I really enjoyed them here.

I was very lucky at the dining table, opposite me were Anfieldgal, PD, and my dearest shift buddy as well as Fluffy Kitten, They looked fan-tas-tic in the candle light. I had square jaw next to me and BigAl on the other side. I loved it.

I didn't gamble, I had £40 but it stayed with me. Every one else enjoyed it and so did I. I had some text's with GB, I would love to have a candle lit supper with her and slow dance the night away, but as she said "it wouldn't be right". Don't you hate it went women are so so right!!

I drove Shift Buddy and Fluffy kitten home around midnight and got back and into bed at about 01:00 hrs. Empty roads, good headlights and good driving music. I do sometimes miss the driving I did with the Swindon lot.

So after going to bed so late I woke up at 06:35, rolled over till 07:15 and the in a flash of good thinking took all of the laundry down to Preston Park and sat watching a huge drum washing machine go round and round and round . . you get the picture.

Home for 10 minutes and get told off for moving socks off the rack and hanging towels outside on the line. Listen if the path is dry then the towels will start to get dryer. Yes I know, not bone dry but better than they were.

Spoke to GB who slept on the floor Saturday night when visiting friends for the evening.

Finally finished my companies figures for the last financial year. My head hurts and my mind is weary. But it will soon be Christmas / New year. A time to look past and a time to look forward.
