28th November 2007

It seemed a good idea at the time.

Idle hands do the devils work, and so I found myself on a auction site with loads of interesting things to bid for. OK, you think, not so bad, what can Simple of Sussex get up to. Perhaps the odd purchase here or there?

Well £52 later and I am the proud owner of an item. To be more precise a extending ladder some 12 feet long.

Not so bad do I hear you say. Quite handy in fact, apart from one small problem. None of my vehicles have a roof rack and the ladder definitely wont fit on a bus. No way.

After some days looking at the problem and nearly buying an inflatable roof rack (yes really - see www.handirackuk.com) I have the answer, "Pilot" my mate has eleven days off and better still his wife's car has a roof rack. Problem solved.

Now I fancy some Bread and Cheese with a bit of pickle

I have always wanted to make some chutney or pickle. Whats the difference? I have found a site that supplies wide mouthed food grade plastic jars so I am going to give it a go. At least the bread & pickle will be OK. Watch this space.

Now what could I do?

Simple is fiftytwo years old. And has come upon one of those key points in his life. He has a job, with nice people (shift buddy that's you) not too taxing but not one that he wants to do until the end of his days. So he is looking at what he could do. Lots of visiting study sites and career change sites. It has to meet some basic ground rules:-

1. Honest !
2. Same income or more !
3. Has to have some "style/interest",
4. Online would be great, ie from home perhaps? "Tasty Pickle" by post?
5. Easy reach of the Golf course.

Who knows what will come about.

And finally. . .

I was a bit out of sorts at the end of last week, bit of a major insecure moment. Its not like me to feel insecure and down. My glass is usually half full. Anyway I received some kind words and came to the conclusion that not only is my glass full to the brim but its not a bad life after all. Still smiling, still laid back, that's me.

That's all folks,

Simple of Sussex.
