Sussex SNOW SNOW SNOW and more SNOW ! !

So, Simple decided as his son was driving back from his evening sports class at only about 1 or 2 miles per hour and the roads were bad and he had a rear wheel drive Merc ( old but loads of style ) I would drive to meet him part way just to make sure.

Off I set with spare blanket, coffee and gloves , hat and jacket. It was interesting getting to the A23 our local fast dual carridgeway, and once I joined it whammo smack into a jam caused by two lorries side by side not being able to make it up a slight incline !!

Note the gritter lorry trapped in the queue. Things were NOT moving fast !!











This is the same view but looking back, two hours later, having watched my son crawl past sideways nearly home. Still it was fun driving in such technical conditions !!

Simple of Sussex - The first snow of the winter.

Most normal fathers would have been snuggled up in bed, instead I was driving through the snow to pick up my son from his works christmas dinner do. It had been snowing all evening and there were about 3 inches of snow on the road. Now I agree this is not alot by say Alaska standards but it is a fair bit for Sussex. Never the less I made it and he had a great evening.

The next night I drove him to his Tae Kwon Do evening class and their Christmas "Fish & Chip Supper", he got presented with his ( fourth ) grade belt. He really enjoys the classes.

So, only Wednesday and Thursday to go to Christmas.  Today is the 22nd of December 2009. My thoughts are of John Parker, my late brother. I have no words to say really. . . just memories to treasure.
