Snow update, better buildings and FEED THE BIRDS !!

Saturday 9th January and its still snowing, yes I know it's not all the time but enough to just add a a bit more to whats already here. It just keeps getting deeper !! When I look outside my kitchen window I can see thats its settled to a depth of 4 inches on the washing line, 80 feet of perfectly balanced snow all the way up the line.

Friday 8th January, went to see my mother yesterday, cooked her sausage, bacon, egg and toast for breakfast. I'm sure that she sometimes forget to eat correctly. I stayed the morning to give her some company and gave her chicken & veg casserole for lunch, I didnt leave till she had eaten it. At least I know she had two hot meals yesterday.

As I drove about ( very slowly ) yesterday I couldnt help notice which houses had good insulation and which houses had poor insulation. Very few house had little or no insulation thank goodness. All new houses should have rooftop solar panels to heat the hotwater tank, cavity wall insulation and triple glazing. If its good enough for Norway and such , then its good enough for me.

This is a link to a zero carbon house located on one ofScotlands most northerly islands.

Another thing we should do is FEED THE BIRDS !!!  Get yourself a bag of birdseed, a FAT BALL and dont forget that they need water in these conditions.
